- Attorney Dr. Jon Davis was raised in Taney County, Missouri.
- His father’s family dates back to the 1800's in the Ozarks. Around 1854, his Great Great Grandfather and Grandmother moved from Carroll County, AR to Christian County, Missouri. The family still holds the original land grant in Christian County that dates back prior to the Civil War. Additionally, Dr. Davis' father taught Biology at the School of the Ozarks (now College of the Ozarks) from the mid-1960's until his retirement in the mid-1990's.
- Dr. Jon Davis attended School in Taney County and then attended College of the Ozarks where he graduated with a B.S. in biology. He then attended the University of Arkansas for an M.S., Ph.D. in the sciences. He taught biology at College of the Ozarks before returning to the University of Arkansas for a J.D.
- Dr. Davis and his wife and daughter currently reside in Christian County, with ties to Taney and Douglas Counties.
